How much to install a new (100A or 200A) electrical service panel in my California home?
I have a 35 year old home with an outdated panel. It was recommended that I replace it. I got one quote for $5,000 for a 100A panel but that seems like robbery. Can anyone with knowledge help me out and guide me?
My electrician usually does these for btween $1200 and $1600, but $5k is out of the ball park! Price depends on number of total circuits, how many and where the feeds are going to, runs to exterior like a garage, etc. Also if your power comes into property underground or overhead has some bearing. Get more quotes, at least two more.
